June is coming to an end, and it's safe to say that in two and a half months we'll know the look and capabilities of the new iPhones. They'll bring many hardware improvements, the main ones being around photography. Here are 5 camera innovations that will be coming iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max.

48MPx telephoto lens

This is what I'm looking forward to the most. The telephoto lens got a major upgrade in the iPhone 15 Pro Max, which was a tetraprism with 5x zoom. Last year it Apple The iPhone 16 Pro (and of course the 16 Pro Max) should see an increase in the MPx sensor this year, which simply means more detail and less noise. It could also improve digital zoom. This upgrade will also make the entire trio of rear lenses on the iPhone 17 Pro have a uniform resolution of 48 MPx.

24MP front camera

The resolution of the front camera should also increase, although not as dramatically. We should jump from 12 MPx to 24 MPx, and this across the entire product line, including the iPhone 17 and 17 AirHowever, increasing the number of pixels often entails increasing the size of the sensor itself, which is contrary to the attempt to reduce it. Dynamic Islandoh, let's hope so AppIt manages to ideally balance the quality, performance and size of the front camera.

Redesigned photo module

Apple plans to fundamentally change the photomodule in the new generation of iPhones 17 Pro, i.e. to drastically enlarge it from the current square layout to a rectangular one across the entire width of the back. This is due to the fact that although technologies are improving, their dimensions are not and Apple There's simply nowhere to put them, so they have to make such a concession. Whether it will be at the expense of design and usability remains to be seen, but the fact is that the concerns are quite justified, even considering the overall weight of the device. Maybe it won't wobble on our table anymore.

New Camera app in iOS 26

Because iPhones 17s are coming iOS 26, they will of course also receive a fundamentally redesigned Camera application, which Apple presented as part of the introductory Keynote k WWDC25. This should be easier to use and will of course reflect the new Liquid Glass design that permeates the entire system.

Recording from multiple cameras at once

There is widespread speculation across the internet that iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max will get an exclusive new feature in the Camera app, which will be support for recording video from multiple cameras simultaneously. After all, many third-party apps already do this, so it shouldn't be a problem for Apple not complicated at all. But why are we waiting so long for it, it means that Apple he wants to "embellish" this feature more. So we'll see what he comes up with in the end and if he comes up with it at all.
