The new iPhone 17e may still be fresh, but the Geekbench database has already seen the first test results. Although it is an entry-level model in the series, the first numbers indicate that no effort has been spared in terms of performance.
CPU performance: On par iPhone 17
According to available measurements, it reaches iPhone 17e average score of around 3,320 points in single-core and 8,373 points in multi-core test. This is a very good result, because in single-core performance it practically catches up with the basic iPhone 17 (3,319 points). In multi-core, it also surpasses last year's iPhone 16 Plus (8,266 points). A19 chip in the model iPhone 17e has 6 CPU cores as the basic "seventeen".
Graphics with one concession
But where saved, similar to last year's iPhone 16e, is the graphics. While the basic iPhone 17 has a 5-core GPU, iPhone 17e got one less core. In the test, its result is around 31,163 points, which is roughly 20% less than the full-fledged A19.
This is still a significant improvement over the iPhone 16e, which scored 23,895 points. The good news is that this GPU also supports hardware-accelerated ray tracing. So AAA games will not be a problem. The Geekbench listing also shows that iPhone 17It has 8 GB of RAM and a 16-core Neural EngineAlthough the first benchmark leaks should be taken with a grain of salt, it seems that iPhone 17e will be an ideal "entry point" into the Apple ecosystem for many users. In terms of performance, it is on the heels of much more expensive models from last year.
It's for me iPhone 17e a pleasant evolution. By the standards of Applu you get a very powerful phone for a low price that will easily last you several years of high-quality use. True, there are a few limitations. However, this model is intended for absolutely basic users.
