Improved Precision Search with new UWB chip

Bluetooth for better range 

Apple says that AirThe Tag 2 has an improved Bluetooth chip that "extends the range at which items can be located." Unfortunately, it doesn't specify any more, so we'll probably only know from testing what improvements can be expected. 

Louder speaker 

But with the speaker already Apple The company says it's up to 50% louder, meaning you can hear it from up to twice as far away.

New privacy protection 

First AirThe tag quickly became a much-abused tool for unwanted tracking. Although Apple has tried to mitigate this problem over the years with software updates, AirTag 2 also offers several new privacy protections. It doesn’t physically store location data or history on the device, and it uses end-to-end encryption to protect all communications on the Find network, ensuring that only the owner of the device can access location data. 

Apple explicitly states that the new AirDesigned solely to track objects, not people or pets, the tag features a suite of breakthrough security measures against unwanted tracking, including cross-platform alerts and unique Bluetooth identifiers that change frequently.
