First of all, it is appropriate to say that Mapy.cz, as we know it, remains free in its basic version - at least in its online mode. When looking for a route for your trip or nearby restaurants, you can use Mapy.cz as you are used to. In offline mode without the premium version, only the map for one state including all its regions can be actively used. However, it can be changed as needed whenever you are online.

For Czech users, the Premium version of the platform will be available for annual fee 249 Kč. Which isn't much. Additional advanced features will be gradually added to the subscription, which will be adapted to the needs of users. In addition, you can have exclusive features for free. Contributors will now be able to see directly in the application how many reviews, photos or how many kilometers they have driven with navigation over the last year, what new places they have discovered and which data they may have helped to correct. The most active ones (specifically there will be 5 thousand of them) will then have access to the Premium version without having to pay for it.

Next year, a new version of the Mapy.cz application will also be available on smart watches, that is Apple Watch even those with the system Wear OS (Samsung Galaxy Watch, Xiaomi, Tic Watch or One Plus Watch). Another upcoming novelty will be appreciated especially by lovers of mountains and views. Mapy.cz is already actively working on its own version of the function, which will be able to recognize peaks on the horizon. This is now offered by the paid application Peak Finder. It is not yet clear whether it will be free or as part of a subscription.
However, Mapy.cz continues to prepare news for cyclists, motorists and those who prefer public transport, location sharing and the extension of route planning to include another mode of transport. The premium version should be purchased through the web interface.
