In July, Intel shared with us the features of the Thunderbolt 4 port that PC owners with Tiger Lake processors and above will be able to enjoy. At first glance, the difference does not appear to be noticeable, because the transfer speeds of Thunderbolt 4 and Thunderbolt 3 remained the same - i.e. 40 Gb/s. However, Intel has brought several interesting improvements, including support for two 4K displays or one 8K monitor, 32 Gbps PCIe for transfer speeds of up to 3 MB/s, support for docks with up to four Thunderbolt 000 ports or waking the device from sleep mode using the keyboard and mice connected via Thunderbolt.
Intel has also designed new cables that support all the features that Thunderbolt 4 will offer. Fortunately, the design remains unchanged, making them compatible with USB 4 and Thunderbolt 3. If you were excited about the news about Thunderbolt 4, it's a shame that the latest standard is not included in the newly introduced machines from AppOn the other hand, we still have something to look forward to, and if you want new laptops from the workshop AppIf you want to pre-order, you can do so today.
