Duo managed to use the unconventional design of its "puzzle" also in the Camera, where it added several functions that were not available in classic iPhonech simply don't make sense. At the same time, it's good to know that the photography equipment itself is closer to the basic iPhone than to the 18 Pro models. So if someone is expecting a foldable iPhone at the same time as an absolute photographic flagship AppWell, he's got a few surprises in store for him.

One of the most interesting new features is Smart Take. iPhone Duo can be placed half-open on a table, for example, while the artificial intelligence monitors the group being photographed and automatically evaluates the moment when everyone is ready. This means that the phone owner does not have to set the self-timer and then sprint into the frame.
Similarly, smart use of the second display is offered by Duo Preview. The person being photographed can see a live preview of the photo on the outer panel and can adjust the expression or position before pressing the shutter. For photographing children, the Kid Cue function is also available, which displays evenmace Peanuts and tries to draw their gaze towards the camera.
The hinge replaces the tripod
A practical advantage of the folding structure is the possibility of erecting Duo without any accessories. The phone can serve as its own tripod for selfies, long exposures, filming or FaceTime. Also interesting is the ability to use the external display as a viewfinder and take selfies with the main 48MP camera. The dual displays are also used during calls. Features Duo FaceTime can show the other party on the external display while the phone owner works on the internal display. It is not the same as the feature Dual Capture, which simultaneously records images from both the front and rear cameras.
A photography flagship? Not in this case
The camera setup itself is significantly more conservative. Duo It has a 48MP main Fusion camera, more in line with the iPhone 17 than the Pro models. It takes 24MP photos at a 26mm focal length as standard, and also offers 12MP double zoom using the sensor cutout. The second camera is a 48MP ultraa wide-angle lens with a focal length of 13 mm and macro support. However, there is no separate telephoto lens, so the optical zoom quality ends at 2x and the digital zoom reaches a maximum of 10x.
There are more restrictions. Duo does not support ProRAW, ProRes, ProRes RAW, Apple Log 2, spatial photos or video, variaa new function or a new function Apple Reference Image. Also missing are professional controls, Genlock, or second-generation optical image stabilization using sensor shift.

Video, on the other hand, can surprise
The situation is more interesting with video. iPhone Duo can record 4K Dolby Vision up to 120 frames per second and the film mode handles 4K Dolby Vision at 60 fps. In addition, the film mode effect can now be applied after the video has been recorded. There is also smart object tracking using AI. If the person being tracked briefly disappears from the frame and then returns, the system can recognize them again and continue focusing. Also new is stabilized time-lapse in up to 4K Dolby Vision, which thanks to the possibility of building Duo without a tripod makes exceptionally good sense with this model.
Apple so on the iPhone Duo has chosen a fairly clear strategy. He is not trying to overcome iPhone 18 Pro with a variety of lenses and professional formats, but uses a foldable design to change the way you take pictures. And it's features like Smart Take, Duo A preview or the ability to turn your phone into a small tripod in a second can be significantly more interesting in practice than another item in the table of technical parameters.
