According to all information available so far, it has Apple next year to introduce an iPhone with the nickname Slim, which will be unique in many ways. But there are three scenarios that can make it an iconic model, or just another unsuccessful one.

So there probably isn't a failed iPhone, although of course we don't know how "well" the iPhone 5C or SE sold. Even such an iPhone mini or Plus had and have more sales than almost any competition with Android. But one thing is more or less certain. Next year already Apple will not release the iPhone 17 Plus, so it is preparing a replacement for it.

The question remains whether this replacement will only be in the form of a model for a model, or if it will offer something different, something more or, conversely, less. Relatively reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo currently shared a series specifications, which the iPhone 17 Slim will carry, and if we read between the lines, we get the following three possible variants.

Option 1: Replacement for iPhone 17 Plus

Imagine the current iPhone, which has a 6,6" display with a resolution of approximately 2740 x 1260 pixels, which does not lack Dynamic Island, which has an A19 Pro chip, its own 5G modem and a price tag of 1 dollars (about 299 without tax). On top of that, it has a titanium chassis with an aluminum base to make it really light and really thin overall. We can only guess what "thin" means. Apple but for this model, it wants to keep the size and weight down to a real minimum, which is helped by the camera information. There should be only one, namely 48 MPx with a variable aperture.

Option 2: New lightweight portfolio

In the case of speculation and information leaks, it often depends on whether the given analyst does not mix together several reports. Everything described, except for the price and titanium, could basically point to a new model of the SE portfolio, where the camera would not even have the variable aperture and would simply use the one from the current generation. This variant adds credibility to the fact that we already have quite a lot of news about the iPhone SE 4th generation, when the company can easily surprise by the fact that the device, which we consider to be the future SE, will finally be named iPhone Slim. In addition, the future "SE" model should be the first in the portfolio to offer its own 5G modem.

Option 3: The first flexible iPhone

Speaking of naming, flexible phones like to highlight their thickness in their open state in their specs. Precisely due to their slim profile, they logically do not fit as much in the space of demanding hardware. Even the Galaxy Z Flip6 has only two cameras. If so Apple came up with the first single-camera jigsaw, it wouldn't be exactly surprising. The only striking thing here is the size of the display, which is relatively small for such a device, when there is an option to offer really more, even 6,9 inches. But the "Slim" label, the materials used and other premium equipment could really refer to a jigsaw puzzle.

The new form factor, possibilities and technical conveniences would Apple he could restart the market to a certain extent, as he did with the first iPhone and to a certain extent with the iPhone X. The current jigsaw puzzles are still not completely successful and it can be said that the flexible market is actually just waiting to be entered into it Apple entered and he experienced the real boom. However, it is true that Apple's next hussar piece can also be successful with a classic design, if it has something to offer. And which variant do you prefer?
