SOCIETY Apple last week it released the macOS Sonoma operating system. This major update brings a number of new features – including a few small ones. One of the things that users may have noticed after installing the update is the new click-to-display desktop option, which is enabled by default and, as the name suggests, hides all windows when you click on the wallpaper.
This is a practical function that can make the desktop clearer in many cases. But for some users, it can be more of a complication. Fortunately, the macOS operating system allows you to disable this setting.
- How to disable click desktop view on Mac.
- In the upper left corner of the screen, click on menu -> System settings.
- In the left part of the settings window, click on Desktop and Dock.
- In the section Desktop and Stage Manager find the item Click on the wallpaper to display the desktop.
- Choose the option that suits you best in the drop-down menu.
After following these steps, the desktop will no longer appear on your Mac when you click on the wallpaper. The exception is when you have the Stage manager running.
