SOCIETY Apple has introduced a number of new features to its native applications in new versions of its operating systems, and it hasn't left out Reminders either. Among other things, the latter also offers the option of displaying tasks and task lists in a Kanban-style column view. How to activate this view on Mac?

Kanban is a name for a specific way of displaying tasks. The name comes from Japanese and could very loosely be translated as card or sign. In the context of productivity, kanban is the efficient arrangement of to-do lists so that you can get everything done efficiently and also be motivated to complete your tasks.

How to use the Kanban view in Reminders on Mac

If you switch to the Kanban view on a Mac (but of course also on an iPhone or iPad), you will see tasks in several columns next to each other. You can use them, for example, by moving tasks within one project from the "To be completed" column to the "In Process" column and then to "Completed" during the process.

  • On a Mac, launch the native Reminders and click on the left option to create a new list.
  • Name and edit the list and click on OK bottom right.
  • Right click on the list and select New section.
  • Name the partition.
  • Now, in the menu bar at the top of your Mac screen, click on View -> Columns.

Now you can start adding more new columns and name them as you like. Of course, you can move individual tasks freely from one column to another.
