Using multiple web browser profiles can bring you a number of benefits, especially in terms of organization, privacy and convenience. By creating separate profiles for different purposes, such as work, personal or family use, you can effectively divide your browsing activities and maintain a more organized digital environment. Each profile can have its own set of bookmarks, extensions and settings, allowing you to tailor your browsing to your specific needs.
The ability to set up and use multiple profiles has been available for some time in some of the most popular web browsers, including Chrome and Firefox. Users of the Safari web browser, however, had to wait until the arrival of the macOS Sonoma operating system to be able to create profiles. How to use profiles in Safari in macOS Sonoma?
- Launch Safari on your Mac.
- In the bar at the top of your Mac screen, click Safari -> Settings.
- At the top of the settings window, click the tab Profiles.
- Click on Start using profiles.
Now all you have to do is enter the preferences of the just created profile. Profiles are fully customizable and available not only in macOS Sonoma, but also in iOS 17 and iPadOS 17.
