Apple presents its iPhones as the best for creating photos and videos. Magazine covers are photographed with iPhones, documentaries, music videos and feature films are shot with them. But isn't it just an inflated bubble that's starting to collapse?
It's hard to believe anything these days, especially when it comes to advertising. Apple although he showed us how the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max can also record a professional music video, when he mainly presented 4K video at 120 fps, the truth is that it is already a bit of a stretch. Without a promo and with his own iPhone, Oscar-winner Steven Soderbergh shot the feature film Insane as early as 2018, so why are we still tossing those possibilities around even after six years? Yes, you can record practically anything with your phone. That's just a fact and everyone knows it.
Fourth best
If we then look at the renowned ranking DXOMark, whom many blame for not being so unbiased, Apple he did not reach the peak in it for many years. If nothing else, they at least try to test photomobiles in a unified manner, i.e. everyone in the same way and under the same conditions. Of course, we don't have to believe him, but if we follow his game, it clearly follows that China has the best cameras in mobile phones.
The first is Huawei Pura 70 Ultra, which was already published in April this year. He surprised everyone, including himself, with the second place Google Pixel 9 Pro XL. He therefore shares the second place with another China, Honor Magic 6 Pro. The fourth position is shared by the iPhone 16 Pro with Huawei Mate 60 Pro + a Oppo Find X7 Ultra. Another China in the form follows Huawei P60 Pro, then there's the iPhone 15 Pro and the Google Pixel 9.
Across social networks (especially X) you can see comparisons of the results from iPhone cameras, which are compared precisely with the Chinese competition. It's not too difficult to say why with China. Practically the only other player is Samsung, which is often criticized for the quality of its cameras. Undebugged software is mainly to blame. When the company embellishes it, no one revises the rankings anymore. And Sony, let's face it, doesn't really care.
In those social networks, we often see how they get iPhones on their ass. The question, of course, is how biased and credible these amateur tests are. In the end, maybe it doesn't matter, because the situation is such that, as far as specifications are concerned, iPhones simply do not have Chinese production on paper. Even so, they are considered the best on the market. Why? Because paper can withstand everything and Apple he never chased the highest numbers.
Technology comes second
This year he improved the ultra-wide-angle camera, which is still not worth much. A telephoto lens would certainly deserve a better aperture. The camera controller is thus halfway between enthusiasm and disappointment. But everything works together and often better than anywhere else. We know that even photomobiles for 10 can take the kind of photos that will give us a reason to throw away bulky compacts. I already threw it away with the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
Mobile phones still have a lot of reserves in the field of photography, but they can very skillfully represent single-purpose technology, and this is their advantage, regardless of the flow, how many lenses, with what resolution they offer. If you just "click" anyway, it doesn't matter if you have an iPhone for 30 thousand or a Samsung for 10. The result will always be worth the old money, because it will be dozens of boring photos.
Apple is thus trying to change this not only with a new control element but also with styles. And that is perhaps more fundamental. If you enjoy taking pictures, it might be more than what you're holding in your hand.
2nd place "surprised"? Surprised it wasn't the first, yes.
