Even so, it still only offers decent shots. It lacks sharp details and still blurs the sides, so it doesn't really make sense to take pictures with it at night. Macro is fine, though, if you have enough light. The quality is comparable to that of iPhonech 13, 14 and 15 Pro. This year's 16 Pro, of course, has a slight improvement due to its 48 MPx resolution.
The main camera still offers 1x and 2x zoom, you can also take standard 12 or 24MP images with it. And the results are a bit brighter than last year, playing better with shadows and offering more details. But all this is probably thanks to software games. Even the colors are very faithful. However, the mentioned double zoom, which also works for Portraits, is important.
This is what can somewhat compensate for the missing telephoto lens, because it is true that the step between 2x and 3x is relatively small. Personally, I would rather skip it. ultrawide-angle and took the tele, but in this respect I certainly never Apple But I wouldn't give up 5x zoom anyway, because it's in the 15 Pro Max, 16 Pro and 16 Pro models. Max absolutely fantastic, although I understand that many people don't need to zoom in on the scene and can make do with what they need basic iPhone will offer.
