PanzerGlass has already greatly exceeded the boundaries of its original operations, as its portfolio has grown considerably beyond glass and covers for mobile phones. Under the EmPower brand, it also offers cables, adapters and power banks. We tried the PanzerGlass EmPower Qi2 power bank/MagSafe 5000 mAh and it's energy packed for travel, and in a very compact body.

Powerbank interesting miniwith a slim, metal body of only 8,6 mm thickness, which is strong, durable, light (123 g) and pleasant to the touch. The aluminum body comes partly from recycled materials and the product packaging is completely plastic-free, which emphasizes the manufacturer's ecological approach. However, the bottom of the power bank is rubberized so that it does not scratch the back of the iPhone in case of possible dirt. The packaging itself, except for the power bank and the appropriate manuals, also offers a really short but practical USB-C on USB-C cable.

It charges wirelessly…

With a capacity of 5,000 mAh, this is a power bank designed primarily for situations where it can really help you out – for example, if you forget to charge your device overnight and are rushing to work, or if you are going on a demanding hike and your iPhone's battery is running low due to the navigation being turned on. It won't charge it from zero to 100%, but it will charge it enough to get you through a busy day, or two, without having to reach a power source.

A standard smartphone will charge to approximately 80% of its battery capacity (the company states this value directly for the iPhone 16 Pro), in terms of iPhone 17 Pro Max, it's plus or minus 60%. Wireless Qi2 charging is of course supported MagSafe and provides a convenient magnetic connection and power of up to 15 W - charging starts automatically, just attach the power bank to the back of the device. There is also a button to turn on the LEDs. There are 5 of them in total. The blue one on the left indicates charging of the connected device, each additional white one shows the power bank's charge status (one LED = 25% capacity).

... even with cable

The interesting thing is that USBThe ‑C port offers flexible usage and fast power charging up to 20W. So if you need iPhone charge to the highest percentage possible in the shortest time possible, while at the same time minimemory losses, it's a better choice. That's why there's also the short cable, which doesn't get tangled anywhere. It's clear that someone put a lot of thought into the overall solution. By the way, the charger also supports simultaneous wireless and wired charging, which is practical for powering multiple devices at once.

It's also small, lightweight, and can be carried with you at all times - in a cable, backpack, etc. Of course, the power bank doesn't mind covers that have integrated magnets to ensure it's perfectly positioned.
