The introduction of new products continues. Apple yesterday introduced the new Studio Display XDR, which brings mini-LED panel and refresh rate up to 120 Hz. But there is a catch. Only owners of newer Macand iPads.

According to Appthey will be Macys chips M1, M1 Pro, M1 Max, M1 Ultra, M2 and basic M3 only support the monitor at 60 Hz. However, all other features, including resolution and display technologies, will remain intact.

For full 120Hz refresh rate, you need to own Mac with any of the chips: M2 Pro, M2 Max, M2 Ultra, M3 Pro, M3 Max, M3 Ultra, M4 Pro, M4 Max or later generations of M5, M5 Pro and M5 Max. Support will be available with the latest update macOS Tahoe.

The situation is similar for iPads. Only the latest iPad Pro can handle the full 120 Hz. Other compatible models, including older iPad Pros and iPads Air with M2 to M4 chips, they will only pull 60 Hz from the new Studio Display XDR.

For users of older devices, investing in this model may not make much sense. Even considering the price of $ 3299 (84,990 crowns). Studio Display XDR will be on sale from March 11. Pre-orders have already started.

For me, the Studio Display XDR is a wonderful monitor for all professionals. If you are looking for a monitor from Applu, maybe you will also be grateful for the new product in the form of the classic Studio Display, which starts at 42990 crowns.
