You thought you were buying AirTag at a great price, even though it comes from an e-shop that doesn't primarily deal in electronics. But when it claims to be the "biggest" in its main segment, you have no reason not to trust it. But it still sells fakes AirTags from China.
It was suspicious from the start, but even the first warning didn't seem significant to me. You say to yourself that you probably won't get a box, or that the packaging will be somewhat light, which doesn't matter to you. Because the item was named as Apple AirTag (blister). Price was 529 Kč so much less than they used to be AirTags on sale, but still a lot more than Chinese copies cost.
I bought two as a gift for Christmas, already on December 1st, even though the item was out of stock and it said to ship within 5 days. But the shipment finally arrived on December 20, probably because the Chinese e-shops were overwhelmed with orders and therefore did not have time to deliver themselves. But what came took my breath away.
How can anyone afford that?
If I shop on a Chinese website or similar online marketplaces, it's clear to me that I won't get what I want. But I really didn't expect it from a domestic, and such a large, e-shop. Both delivered AirThe tags were also different. One even had the engraving on the bottom completely off-center. Their boxes looked like they came from a cheap printer. One AirThe Tag even had a battery insert named FirTag.

The copies weren't really that successful, and the lid of one was screwed on the opposite side, so it took me a good few minutes to even get into its guts. Inside, of course, everything is different. In the gallery below, the top is the original Apple AirTag, below it are two copies of it that came, where it is clearly visible how they differ from each other. To top it all off, these scumbags didn't even go with iPhonems iOS 18.2 pair.
What about a refund?
The advantage of buying from a large e-shop is that they are not too resistant to refunds. Although I didn't have time to buy a new one before Christmas, and I had to quickly come up with something else and give it to the person I had it for, however, the store refunded me without delay the money for the entire shipment, including the cost of shipping. However, I had to kill another half hour of my life taking the items to the brick and mortar store because it was easier than sending them registered mail and then communicating with the store about getting that postage refunded.
After I pointed out that the store was selling Chinese junk, it also withdrew this item from its offer. However, it is possible that other stores are or have been using the same strategy. If you have also stumbled upon this and wanted to save money like I did, do not hesitate to contact the store and do notchat get your money back including shipping costs.
