Warhorse Studios, part of leading game publisher PLAION, faced the challenge of efficiently processing huge amounts of data while working on the sequel to Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. The solution was to implement the QNAP TS-h3077AFU-R7-64G rack storage, which, thanks to all-flash technology, multi-gigabit connections, and a compact design, enables rapid code compilation and data distribution to users.
The team uses a combination of powerful dedicated devices (“builders”) and QNAP QSW-M2116P-2T2S switches, which allow builders to communicate with storage via 10GE ports. This significantly speeds up the process of code compilation and distribution to other departments, such as the quality assurance (QA) department.
Quick installation and flexible management
A big advantage of QNAP technology is its easy installation and unified QNAP QTS and QuTS hero environment, which makes management and scaling easier. For example, the game studio uses Hybrid Backup Sync, which provides data backup and migration between storages while supporting multiple data queues.
Designed for mounting in 19″ racks, these devices are installed quickly, often within a few hours. Thanks to the unified QNAP QTS/QuTS hero environment, management is intuitive and the devices are ready for future expansion, for example by adding additional drives or network cards.
