With the DarkModeBuddy app, you can automatically switch your Mac between light and dark mode based on the ambient light. If you've never been a fan of the automatic mode switching in macOS, because it's based on the time of day, DarkModeBuddy is the solution. It's a small app that runs in the background and reads the ambient light sensor on your Mac(the same sensor it uses to adjust screen brightness). When the ambient light level drops below the set value, DarkModeBuddy automatically switches Mac to dark mode. When the ambient light level rises above the set value, it returns to light mode.
