It's been exactly a year since the Czech edition of the biographical book appeared on the shelves of real and virtual bookstores. Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson. Readers' interest was considerable, the print run of 40 copies of the printed book is practically sold out. The digital version sold a total of over 000 copies, of which iTunes has almost 2 copies. For fans of charts and statistics, here is another interesting fact. Biography Jobsyou are welcomeBookstore held the top spot in sales for the first three months, and a year after its launch, it is still in the top twenty. In this context, it will probably come as no surprise that around a thousand people have purchased 26 Hours of Narrated Books.
Thanks for the recap. I would just add that it is a shame that during the year the monstrous translation did not receive a thorough revision, at least for the e-form. And printed books are "sold out" because, among other things, they bought them in bulk Apple sellers and give them as gifts (the other day in iWorld they offered me this book as a gift with the cable I was buying, the same in Qstore). Only after deducting marketing items could we talk about the number of copies sold. I estimate it at 5-10 max.
The version that is in iTunes has gone through three revisions. If you have the first version, download the book again. I don't see how it is with other eReading sellers, Wooky,... whether they have somehow updated the e-book.
Apple sellers really bought the book. In large, because they had "big eyes". Here 200, here 500 pieces. But I doubt they bought 3/4 of the load. (How many of those sellers are there in the Czech Republic?) Realistically, it was up to 8 units.
Hello, there is not a single line from the publisher on the store that any revisions have been made and the errors have been removed, which I think should be in their best interest, otherwise they won't sell anything with those bad reviews and the affected buyers haven't added a single line in their reviews yet that it has been fixed and if I understand correctly the latest version alsoBooks so repairs to the existing deteriorated work have not even been possible so far. So how is it?
You won't believe me if I tell you that changing the initial text without diacritics to CZECH in the unicode era only took about two months, about 5 urgent e-mails were sent, and it was already successful the second time. I'd rather not talk about other things, because I would be very cruel to myself.
Yes, in the last fewBooks it is possible to update an older version to a newer one.
Thank you Mr. Kubín for the answer.
Otherwise, I would like to ask those who bought the book to write on the page and possibly here how much the translation has improved. I have a paper book and I would like to buy the electronic one, but I don't have the courage after the experience with the paper one. There is nothing clear about the quality of the translation of the audiobook, and I would be interested in that.
Electronic biography Steve Jobs in iTunes is based on a reprint of the first (corrected) edition. I can't tell you how many errors were "caught". Maybe this will help you review.
The texts for the audiobook are again based on the reprint and were still edited so that they fit Mr. Stránská better.
Maybe a stupid question, but I'll ask anyway: Is the book worth reading? And how is it read?
By the way, surprisingly Steve Jobs It affects my life even more the longer he is gone from us.
You can read small samples (working version) here: 1, 2, 3.
Thanks, I'll be glad to read it.
excellent book.
